Dinnerware by Barbara — The Flame of Lifedinnerware logo

Barbara Lazaroff's Flame of Life, inspired by her original poem, was the centerpiece element gracing Spago Beverly Hills. As a Spago patron you'd be familiar with this elegant curved flame carved into the chairs and bar stools, emblazoned on the Spago carpeting, etched into the glass kitchen wall, and elsewhere in Spago.

A portion of each sale supports a good cause like Meals on Wheels and other non-profits Barbara has supported in the last 30 years.

The limited edition 16-piece fine china set is service for four in four vivid colors, each displaying The Flame of Life and one of the poem's inspirational lines.

ShareWell's 2018 Discovery Award Dinner

Sharewell logoShareWell is a new name here but it isn’t new to supporting the Zimmer Children’s Museum.

Barbara is a supporter of the Zimmer Children’s Museum, which from the Jewish Federation Building on Museum Row, has been a place that encourages children, youth, and families to practice being their best selves through immersive play.

As 2019 begins, the museum will have a new name and a new location. It’s moving to Santa Monica Place and will be called the Cayton Children’s Museum by ShareWell, in commemoration of a generous gift from Andrea and Barry Cayton (The Goldrich Family Foundation).

The new space will have five core wings with exhibits offering fun, interactive experiences for young people to learn how to take care of themselves, take care of others, and play their way to a better world. Along with the increased accessibility and visibility afforded by our new location, our We All Play initiative will continue to ensure that every child and family can enjoy the museum.

Additionally, youTHink by ShareWell continues to engage over 3,000 Title I public school students, ages 11-19, in creative arts education to help them find their voice, cultivate a social conscience, develop leadership skills and make a positive impact in their communities.

This dinner, honoring Andrea & Barry Cayton, Craig Erwich and Sandra Stern is in continued support of this fine children's museum. There will be an auction as well as the dinner.

Los Angeles No Kid Hungry Dinner

No Kid Hungry logoEvery year, the country’s best chefs join together to end childhood hunger in America by supporting No Kid Hungry Dinners presented by Citi. In more than 15 cities across the nation, guests enjoy a one-of-a-kind dining experience curated by the nation’s premier culinary talent and participate in unique food, travel and lifestyle auctions – all while raising funds for No Kid Hungry, Share Our Strength’s campaign to end childhood hunger in America.

Sadly, 1 in 5 kids in California will face hunger this year.  Since the launch of the No Kid Hungry campaign, Share Our Strength has connected kids with more than 750 million meals.  They’ve also introduced the “Breakfast After the Bell” program in well over 1,000 California schools to ensure kids start their day, ready to learn and fueled with nutritious food. Teachers and principals report test scores are up and absenteeism is down in the schools where breakfast is served in the classroom to any and all who need it.

This dinner supports the California efforts of No Kid Hungry. It will feature amazing culinary talent including many Michael’s Santa Monica alumni as well as some exciting rising star Angeleno chefs.
